捕鸟蛛英文叫:TARANTULA当欧洲人第一次见到这种大型蜘蛛时惊讶的误认为是 狼蛛的一种,所以直到现在一直沿用TARANTULA 这个狼蛛的名称. 捕鸟蛛在全世界已经发现830多种 每年还在增加之中. 它是一类最原始的蜘蛛.早在石炭纪便已经出现.虽然并没有用网捕猎的能力,但也能结网做窝.在其后的亲戚中才出现了用精密的丝网捕猎的种类.

隆重介绍我个人最爱的,Poecilotheria属蜘蛛(称为华丽雨林) ,此束中的品种均是生活在 亚洲孟加拉印度斯里兰卡等地的雨林中,全部为树栖. 需要高温高湿 ,还需要很高的空间.在国内价格不菲,其中最贵的蓝宝石华丽雨林,一只成体的价格要在 5000元以上.

墨西哥红膝头 ,多部电影中 都有出现被人逢为毛蜘蛛中最有知名度的品种,饲养简单 ,原生环境在墨西哥的干燥灌木丛中, 需要干燥环境,温度26度以上最好.但仍需要备一个水盆供其饮水.于其同属的几个亲戚都很相象,饲养方式也雷同.
